Complaint by Christine Lebednik :

This is the e-mail of an allegedly legitimate Marketing agency company in the U.K. However, it is no such thing. It is a front for multiple Internet scams. They use employment scams. I have no direct proof of this part, but I suspect they start through an apparent "website review" "freelance" opportunity, through a U.S. based company called "The Write Society." The timing and the, so to speak, 'modus operandi', match. To get paid, you have to confirm your e-mail with the various websites, but most of the confirmation e-mails never arrive. Meanwhile, the first several sites you visit are flagged as "risky behavior" sites. This gives them unauthorized access to your computer. Whatever they were after in my case, apparently they weren't getting it fast enough, because they tried another employment scam: hiring me as a consultant to assist in a brand roll-out. This led to more direct access to my PayPal account [which as of this writing is, I believe, still compromised].[Last looked yesterday.] The second employment scam is actually what got them caught. I went to get better contact information to report to Yahoo and try to get this address shut down, and the agent at Yahoo spotted the real problem immediately. A remote diagnostic showed serious unauthorized intrusion on my computer. I had it remediated this past Sunday, and had to borrow from someone to do so. However, the Malware detector that the remediators put on my computer periodically keeps popping up periodically with notices indicating they are still trying to regain access. I felt consumer awareness and trying to get their e-mail account shut down the most important so that is where I have been reporting, but will be contacting the actual authorities probably today. I also suspect a connection to an obvious sweepstakes scam, run by a company called "GCR" or "GRC" something [Ripoff Report has several reports on this company(s), with various iterations on the name.] Please note that there IS a legitimate Masssachusetts-based, professional level temporary placement agency called GCR Professional Services, and I believe I worked one assignment, quite satsifactorily for them and wish them no poor publicity. They are based somewhere around Waltham or Needham, I believe. They place on-site people like technical writers, engineers, and programmers. Within twenty four hours after remediation, I got a phone call on my CELL phone from them (sweepstakes people), but as a precaution called back on my LANDLINE phone. The person knew instantly who I was, saying 'we are trying to reach . . .' and giving my name. While you CAN get that information if you have a phone number, it shouldn't be instantaneous for someone calling back on a different number than the incoming call. Unless, of course, they are working with hackers who have placed all personal information before the "front man." I suspect the point of the call was to try to get me to go to the "sweepstakes" website so the cyber criminals could regain access to my computer. There are also some PayPal and traditional financial institution issues going on, here, so likely there is money laundering, money mail scam, and who knows what all else going on with this e-mail address. They certainly seem to be "menu" or "equal opportunity" cyber criminals. Right now, they are still trying for access, so either they are arrogant enough to think they can just continue even if caught, or they don't believe they have been caught. I've got three reports out on them on Ripoff Report [one under each of the company names: ID_Experiential, GCR/GRC and The Write Society], and have filed an abuse report with Yahoo. Today I plan to do the real authorities.
