I was super excited when I got a reply from someone interested in a wedding dress I was selling on craigs list. I asked a friend about the certified check & the bad grammar, but they thought maybe the person was on their cell phone typing & not to worry. I gave them my name, address & phone number before looking up the 'hard working Marine' online. Found out they were a scam, called my bank to have them watch my account & told 'sara' not to contact me or I would go to the police & report their scam. Well I kept getting emails about the dress. Each time they offered me more & more $ for holding it & 'my running around'. A certified check came for $2400 but I knew better & shred it/threw it out. I kept getting emails asking about the check, to deposit it until account & give them my account # so they can take out the 'mover/pick up drivers fee'. Again I told them not to contact me but obviously they don't read anything. Today I got a lovely text claiming they were going to the FBI & reporting me because they thought I was stupid enough to cash the check & were claiming I stole/kept the rest by. I would love to see the FBI show up. In sure they've come across miss 'sara leigey' before

I got the same exact e-mail about "Sara Leigey" being a very busy (US Marine) and paying the agreed amount by CERTIFIED CHECK plus $30 as a good faith effort to hold the item on craigslist. Do not let them get away with scamming you! Cash only and it helps to meet at a neutral location and not your personal residence!

I actually played along with their scam, received a certified check for 2450.00
check was from Husch Blackwell LLP. Called and waiting for someone to call me bk to that I can fax a copy of the check to them. I cant believe their are people who have nothing better to do than scam hard working individuals like myself. It happened to me back in Nov 2011 and they got me for 3,000.00 hard lesson learned, but since then I have learned. and they are still stating that everything is on the up and up, believe me Karma is a ***** and I hope they get what they deserve one day!!!
